A Site Touting Terrorist Content
Celeb Jihad is an online website affiliated with the Islamic terrorist group, Al Qaeda, that is known for posting leaked personal videos of well-known celebrities as a way of jihad satire. The Daily Mail says it as “a satirical celebrity gossip site.” It has been described as “a gloriously unoriginal and unappealing site, in which terrorists are given a free hand to attack Westerners as well as Muslims.”
Celebrity Jihad boasts its users that they have the ability to contact any of the celebrities by phone, fax, email or IM chat. But one thing is for certain, whoever is behind this site knows how to take a simple message and turn it into a terrorist message, or at least a crude joke.
The website can be accessed through a number of internet browsers, including Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Internet Explorer Express, Opera and Safari. Some of the links from this website are even enabled by default, meaning that if you have Opera and Internet Explorer you will be able to visit the website.
Although the videos uploaded on this website may seem innocent enough, the reality is that they are often uploaded using virus such as Trojan Horse, Backdoorworm and Shasvirus. The files can be opened only if the infected computer is running Microsoft Windows, or Apple Mac OSX.
The website is also known to upload other types of viruses including keyloggers, cookies, Adware, Spam and Trojans, which may be used for further malicious purposes. It is not a surprise, therefore, that some security professionals are calling for stricter security measures for viewing the content of the website. In addition, many Internet users are complaining about the loading time that the website takes to load.
The website also offers its users an option to make donations and buy products. However, it has been revealed that the website is run by the terrorist group Al Qaeda.
Celebrity Jihad also offers information and photos of the celebrities and their personal lives, which may be attractive to those looking to create a political statement. For example, a site dedicated to a well-known actress, Rihanna, contains pictures of her partying with rappers, along with a detailed description about her life. A photo of the late Prince, Keith Emerson is also included.
Celeb Jihad is not the only website that caters to terrorists. A site called Jawa Report, which is also affiliated to the terrorist group Hamas, also has links to other websites that are related to the jihads and terrorist activity. A site dedicated to the former president George W. Bush also contains links to other terrorist and jihadist sites.
The website Jawa Report is not a joke. It is also a site that provides reliable information about a wide variety of issues that are not only embarrassing for celebrities but also affect their lives, for example the Israeli and Palestinian conflict.
